What does induction mean?Induction technology uses magnetism to create heat in the base of a pot rather than in a cooking element below the cooktop surface.
This is a safer cooking system as the only heat in the cooktop surface is the transfer heat back from the pan. The cooktop surface remains cooler and easier to clean as spill overs will not char on the surface.
In addition to safety and easy cleaning, induction cooktops are faster and more responsive than traditional electric or gas cooktops. This has made Electrolux induction cooktops the choice of leading chefs like Tetsuya Wakuda for both his restaurant and home.
Induction cooktops require pans with a sufficient magnetic content and the simple test as to whether your existing pans are suitable is whether a magnet will stick firmly to them.
